Common 401(k) Plan Errors

The Program 

We will discuss common 401(k) plan issues and how employers should address them.  For example, we will discuss errors that occur with respect to the following: 

  • ·         Loans and hardship withdrawals
  • ·         Employee classifications and transfers
  • ·         Compensation
  • ·         Forfeitures
The Presenters

Summer Conley, JD, Partner, DrinkerBiddle assists clients in a variety of employee benefit areas, including qualified plan work, executive compensation, and health and welfare issues. Summer assists plan sponsors and fiduciaries in complying with ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. She also advises plan service providers (e.g., RIAs, investment managers, record-keepers, broker-dealers, etc.) with respect to their ERISA obligations.Summer attended University of California, Santa Barbara and received her JD from Pepperdine School of Law where she was Valedictorian, Pepperdine Law Review.

Ryan C. Tzeng, JD, Associate, DrinkerBiddle, assists public and private sector plan sponsors, third-party administrators, and other pension service providers on a wide range of employee benefits matters, including tax-qualified retirement plans, nonqualified plans and service agreements. He also advises clients in matters involving compliance under 404(c) of ERISA, reporting and disclosure, determination letter applications and voluntary correction program applications, and qualification of state domestic relations orders. Ryan attained his JD from Loyola Law School. One of the Top Rated Employee Benefits Attorney in Los Angeles and selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.
